As you can see on my blogs, I always have the heading Filipino by blood and Burmese at heart. I fully know that l have no Burmese blood at all—- however being in Myanmar for almost 8 years taught me to be a Burmese boy.
A Burmese boy, who can speak and understand Myanmar a little. Despite my struggling Burmese conversations, most people think I’m Burmese. Especially when I buy at the market and eat my favorite Shan Noodles at the restaurants.
And like my love for Shan Noodles, I have come to love Longyis. Before, I only wear longyis on special occasions. But now, even on normal days I wear longyis.
I always feel the Burmese vibe every time I wear it. My only problem is – – – tying my longyi perfectly. I have moments when it looks perfect, but sometimes, when the longyi is too big I find it difficult to tie.
But I guess, like my journey in Myanmar, it would take time to fully perfect the craft of tying my longyi.

Joamar-John
